Jay Reinemann is Managing Director of BBVA's venture capital and alliances group, based in San Francisco. Jay heads the strategy and corporate development function (BBVA New Ventures) for BBVA focused on emerging technology and businesses. BBVA is a $600 billion retail bank with 50 million customers in 33 countries.
Jay previously served as Vice President, Corporate Ventures and Strategic Alliances for VISA, Inc. where he defined and managed Visa's corporate venture capital program including sourcing, evaluation, execution, recruiting, portfolio company governance, alliance management and financial and strategic reporting. Jay led a team of five investment professionals and personally led investments in Tripwire, Good Technology (MOT), ISCubed, Mobile365 (SY), Application Security, Way Systems, SPI Dynamics (HP) and FT Ventures LLP. Participated in the Board of Directors of Application Security, Inside Contactless, SPI Dynamics, Tripwire and Way Systems.
Jay is a seasoned business development executive with broad-based expertise in venture capital, finance and technology. He has over fifteen years of diversified financial services and business development experience working with start-ups to Fortune 100 companies. For almost a decade, he focused on delivering innovation to the world's largest payments company through investments and global partnerships with emerging technology companies. Jay is currently focused on financing and building innovative technology companies for the payments sector.
